Linear bounds and sharp exponential growth for commuting matrix algebra
Source: arxiv.org/abs/2611.08135
For any $m$ pairwise commuting matrices $\{A_i\}_{i=1}^{m}\subset \M_n(\F)$, we prove $\dim_\F \F[A_1,\cdots, A_m]\leq (2^m-1)(n-1)+1$, answering Bergman's question on the existence of a linear bound for a fixed number $m$.
